/r/pics Feb 2016 moderation report


Hey folks!I've decided I'll make one of these every month in the efforts of transparency and because everyone likes stats!Here is the overview of our moderation and what we did over the month of FeburaryNew moderatorsWe added five new moderators just a few days ago! Thank you to all who applied, and "congrats" to the new mods as follows:/u/tragopanic/u/siouxsie_siouxv2/u/BANGEXPLOSIVE/u/lessons_learnt/u/i336_Flair improvementsWe have changed up a bit of flair.We are still working on deciding if we want to just use "politics" and drop the election 2016 or keep both.We have added some new CSS classes to make flair a bit prettier, less scary and redWe have also expirimented a bit with raw content flairing (like "people" and "scenery"). This is just something we are playing with right now.And well that is really it, most of our focus this month was on the new mod search and dealing with spamFeb 2016 statistics:In Feburary 2016, we:Made a total of 39793 moderator actions (Up about 5k from last month)Removed 14,206 submissionsRemoved 8019 commentsBanned 686 peopleUnbanned 36 of them (temp bans expiring don't add to this number, while temp bans do add to the number of bans)Ignored 1023 of your reportsMade 31 sticky posts/commentsLocked 2 postsMade 2777 of our comments greenAutomoderator made 32% of all actions, including 6800 post removals and 6200 comment removalsNot including Automod, 6 moderators made 90% of all actions4 moderators made no actions.Reddit administrators made two moderator actions in /r/pics - Both were to remove more serious spam before we saw it. via /r/pics http://bit.ly/1OKCuwq http://bit.ly/1rr742s
